Big Cat Updates
22 is the MAGIC NUMBER!!
The Big Cat Public Safety Act needs just 22 more U.S. Representatives to sign on to federal bill HR 1380 as co-sponsors for the bill to have majority support in the House! Dutchess says LET'S DO THIS!!
You can check this link and scroll down to search by state to see if your U.S. Representative is a co-sponsor or not. https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/house-bill/1380/cosponsors
If they are not, it is urgent to make the Call of the Wild today and ask your U.S. Representative to "end ownership of big cats as pets and abusive cub petting by co-sponsoring the Big Cat Public Safety Act H.R.1380" Make the call NOW at http://BigCatAct.com/
We are just 22 co-sponsors away from having majority support for the bill in the House, which greatly increases the chance the bill will be put to a full vote on the House floor!! Time is running out, so please speak up for big cats today! They need YOU.
URGENT - FINAL HOURS
We are in the final hours to make this happen in the House. Last Friday’s deadline was stayed, and we don’t know if there are days or only hours left to get more than 218 House members signed on. Currently, we have 196. We NEED YOUR HELP!! 3 minutes of time, that's all it takes! BigCatAct.com

Daily Memes & Quotes
“A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step”
Lauren Buckingham - This morning was nice and cool. All the cats took their meds and ate well. Thank you to everyone that came out to feed and clean. Marie covered the radio while I was at the staff meeting. She took care of cats that needed a little more breakfast and did cicles. Fred taught new intern Melody how to do food prep, a nice change for her from the gift shop.
Pam covered both private tours. Bonnie went out in the afternoon and cleaned donor signs and cage signs. She also wiped down the memorial plaques. Fred and Cassidy worked on the tour path down serval row, weeding and general clean-up. Michael worked on barricade maintenance.
That's it from me!
Aleesa Salcido - It was pretty cool this morning! That was a nice change. Abbey Rivett helped coordinate today! Glad to have her back! Elizabeth Heath shared a tour with Melody Moore and Chris Price backed up the tour with Beccy! Pam Rodriguez came in and rocked out some private tours. We got labeling done by Chris, Beccy, Pam, Liz and Abbey.
Thank you, guys! Can’t wait to see you next time ?

Kristine’s Bobcat Rehab Overnight Report
MALACHITE, ASH and CINDER – In the afternoon, Ash and Cinder lounged on the swinging shelf together for a while. After a bit Cinder jumped down and was off to wander around. Ash lounged for a while longer, then he jumped down to go find Cinder. They wandered around their enclosure, sometimes going into the middle section and sometimes coming back into the front section to look around and watch things going on.
They were out of sight for a while, before they came back up front and saw the squirrel and stalked it, laying in the corner by the water bowl and looking up in the tree. So cute! Then after the squirrel left, they went back to wandering around the front and middle sections. After it got dark they came into the front section and went into the left side to curl up on the grass by the pipe to take a nice nap.
Later they woke up and disappeared into the middle section for a while, then they came back to the front left side to curl up in the grass by the pipe to take another nap. Later they were back up and wandering around checking things out. They both sat by the water bowl and looked over towards the front of Malachite's enclosure for a bit. I don't know what they saw, I looked but didn't see Malachite, so maybe a rat was in there.
After a bit, they were off to investigate elsewhere. Cinder went to their spot on the grass by the pipe and bathed, then Ash came and they wrestled a bit, before going over by the opening on the pipe to look in there, lol. Then they started playing, zooming all over chasing each other and bouncing off of the swinging shelf. They played on the logs a bit and paced the fence, then they went back to zooming, looking like two blurs flying across the screen, lol. So cute!
They continued to wander around, pace the fence and then break into chasing each other for a bit, then do it all over again. Silly Bobs! Eventually, Ash wandered into the middle section and Cinder went to the left front side and sat in their spot watching him through the fence. Then she started pacing on the right side and Ash came zooming in and they zoomed all around chasing each other again. As I write this, they are still zooming all over the place, through all sections. They are too cute!!! :-)
I didn't see Malachite again overnight. He sure likes to stay hidden! He's a cutie pie!!! :-)
I wish everyone a great Wednesday!
Warm wishes, Kristine Metzner
