Big Cat Updates
Great media day today! ABC and CBS attended and filmed 4 cats receiving Halloween enrichment. A reporter from the Tampa Bay Times also attended. Bay News 9 could not attend but requested video, which Afton will be putting together. All are excited to be here when the Guatemala tigers arrive. ? CBS will air the story today at noon and again during the 5:00 pm hour. ABC will also air the story tonight during its newscast(s).
Sapphire is locked out of her open-air section. Her platform needs some work.

Foster Kitten Program Updates
The Himalayan Intern House now has a mom with 5 fifteen-day old kittens.
Oliver and Olivia are doing really well on the solid food and using the litter box on their own.
The Sand Cat Intern House may be getting a little visually impaired kitten to also include with the “M” kittens. He has been being fostered by a staff member of HSTB and has a clean bill of health. She would just like him to get socialized by being around other kittens and thinks the Cabana would be a great experience for him. He sees shadows, and dark and light, and gets around very well. That will most likely happen next week.
The following kittens have returned to the Humane Society to await their furrever families.

Coordinator Report – Lauren Grant
Great day today! Melody took her cleaning class during feeding and got her first sign off today. Cassidy got a feeding sign-off. Dylan and Fred started cleaning up Simba’s enclosure while Candy, Mark, Aleesa, Abbey, Melody, & Cassidy cleaned all the cats. After cleaning, Mark did the cicle cats and did an enrichment sign off for Cassidy. Aleesa and Candy had some cat time during lunch. Abbey & Melody joined the Simba project while Fred and Cassidy did food prep. Unfortunately, a ramp in his front bubble needs some work so he is still locked out of there. That’s about it today! Thanks for a great day!

Kristine’s Bobcat Rehab Overnight Report
MALACHITE, ASH and CINDER – In the afternoon, Ash napped on the tall platform in the back section and Cinder lounged and napped on the swinging shelf in the front left section. Later Cinder woke up and jumped down to pace along the fence for a while and Ash also woke up a little later and disappeared in the middle section.
After a bit, he came to the front section and wandered around with Cinder. They also looked for the squirrel and Malachite, then they went to the back section to run around back there. They must have seen Malachite in his back section because they both paced the fence nearest to Malachite’s enclosure.
Eventually, they went into the middle section for a while, then came into the front section after dark to check things out, then they went to their spot on the grass next to the pipe and curled up together to take a nice nap.
Later Cinder woke up and disappeared into the middle section for a while. Ash continued to nap, then after a while he got up and wandered around for a short time, before going back to their spot on the grass to curl up and nap more. Later he woke up again and went to find Cinder, they both came back into the front section, looked around a bit and then went to their spot to curl up together for yet another nap. They are so precious!
Later they woke up after they heard a noise in the pipe and went over to the opening in the pipe to check it out. Then headed off to wander around and investigate everything. They wandered from section to section, just looking around and then they paced the fence.
They are so cute, they wander back and forth, every which way, just checking things out. They must have seen something up on top of their enclosure, a squirrel or something, because they were wandering around while looking up, lol. They were having fun! As I write this, they are in the very back section wandering around. Love those two!!! 🙂
I saw Malachite for a few seconds in his middle section! He was running along the fence closest to Flint’s side, then he disappeared into the bushes. Silly little Bob! Love him!!! 🙂
