Big Cat Updates

Today was cat moving day.  Priya Tiger went home from Vacation and got another pumpkin.  Frosty is sure enjoying being back outside.  His keepers are keeping a very close eye on him.  Manny Jaguar will get another pumpkin on Saturday.

Alexa Flash New Briefing

I don’t remember what led me to the parklineinteractive.com website, but it culminated in a call today w/ Tom Neumann who is one of the co-founders (Kyle Rand). They’ve been around for 2 years and are a team of 7 based in Boston. Tom says they filmed at Big Cat Rescue a couple years ago to get what they could from the tourist side of the barricade and he follows our videos and is a fan.

They have a 5.99 app called Wander that works off of their licensing agreement w/ Google maps. It’s pretty ingenious, as you can go anywhere in the world, by clicking the spot on a map or typing in a place, like Big Cat Rescue or Disney World, and if Google Earth has mapped it, you can see it in 360 degrees.

They have a package they offer to senior living facilities because seniors often suffer depression once they are no longer able to travel. The homes purchase the headsets and laptop that operates as the hub for playing all the same thing at the same time. They were named one of The Top Seven Startups For Souped-Up Senior Care by Forbes.

Coordinator Report

Great, busy day today! Priya and Sundari were moved home from vacation and FunCation. After mowing and weed-eating a leopard was moved into FunCation and the Texas Tigers, Amanda & Andre were moved to vacation.  Running Bear's enclosure was weed-eated, and half of Diablo's was cleaned up.

The tour path was cleaned up by Armani. Lots of tree branches were trimmed and picked up. Some of cats got some fun Halloween enrichment?  Everyone did so much work and it was great! Thanks!
