Simba Savannah finally decided to go to his new enclosure so we are going to try to move Flint Bobcat tomorrow to his new enclosure.

Wild Bobcat Rescued Today
Meet our newest rescue, Casper, he was found along a busy highway in Land O’ Lakes. He is very thin and unstable on his rear legs. It is not clear yet if he is injured. We have set him up in the Bobcat Hospital and will monitor him overnight. Dr. Justin will then determine if he will be examined tomorrow or Monday. http://bigcatrescue.org/casper-bobcat/

Such a great day today! I have so many people to thank for all their hard work?
For feeding and cleaning Aleesa Salcido, Mary Gagliordi, Candy Couser, Bethany Smith, & Stefanie Kraus came in to help interns Melody Moore, Cassidy Helber, & Fred Pagan finish quickly so lots of projects could get done. Kathryn & Michael Heap finished up Simba’s enclosure and he eventually decided to switch to the side by Running Bear for us.?
Dylan Lavigne & Abbey Rivett weed-eated and mowed around the sanctuary, along with Mark Mira & Bethany. Bridget Sardone, Andrew Sardone, Donald Carey, & Erin Carden started raking, pulling weeds, & trimming plants along the tour path. Fred, Melody, & Stefanie also helped with cleaning up the tour path. Finally, Fred, Melody, Dylan, & Stefanie made sure to pick up branches and things from the tour path.
Somewhere in there, we managed to move Natalia home from Funcation and Jinx out to Funcation. Priya moved across to Duchess’s enclosure.
Candy made sure all the cats got their sicles, and Abbey & Cassidy got food prep done.
Huge thank you to Deb Quimby for providing lunch, and Lori Duska and Carol Judge for coming and helping around the gift shop!

Kristine’s Bobcat Rehab Overnight Report
MALACHITE, ASH and CINDER – Ash was in their secret napping spot during the afternoon and Cinder sat on the side shelf on the tall platform in the back section for a while watching squirrels. Then she got down and wandered around through the longer grass and trees. Eventually, she went into the middle section and found Ash, then they both went to the front section.
They wandered around, checking things out and watching something over in Malachite’s direction. Then they went into the left side and Ash sat behind the den while Cinder sat on top of the den and they looked around at things, just checking out what was going on out there. So cute!
They continued to wander around the front and middle sections for a while, then Ash went into the middle section and Cinder paced the fence for a bit. She got up on the den and intently watched the rat pipe opening for a little while, she acted like she heard something in there and then she finally jumped down and went to the middle section.
After a short time, she came back up to the front and wandered around some more, smelling things. Then she went into the middle section to find Ash and then I didn’t see them for a while. Later they both came upfront to look around and then they went to their spot on the grass by the pipe to curl up together and take a nice long nap. They nap so adorably together! They use each other as pillows, lol.
Later they woke up and roamed around, then paced the fence for a bit, before going back to their spot and cuddling up again for another nap. A while later, they woke up and both of them went into the middle section and disappeared. I didn’t see them for a while, then later they came into the front section and went back to their grassy spot by the pipe to cuddle up and take another nap.
After a while, they woke up and were full of energy! They zoomed through the front section chasing each other and bouncing off of the swinging shelf and den, then they wrestled on the Coolaroo for a bit, then went back to zooming and then wrestled on the Coolaroo some more. They are adorable! They played up a storm! As I write this, Cinder is pacing the fence and wandering around the front section and Ash has been wandering in the front and middle sections. They are just too cute!!! 🙂
***I didn’t see Malachite at all overnight. He must have napped a lot as Cinder and Ash did. He’s a cutie pie!!! 🙂
