Poachers Convicted…again
The Court of the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate – II, Alwar, Rajasthan today convicted noted wildlife poacher Juhru and his associates, Tayyeb, Ramzan, Noora and Kalia, sentencing them to five years’ imprisonment along with a fine. The judgment pertains to a case of tiger hunting in Sariska Tiger Reserve in 2003.
This is the fifth conviction for Juhru, Tayyeb, Ramzan and Noora and the sixth for Kalia.
Juhru, a noted tiger poacher hailing from Sariska TR area, is an accused in 14 cases of wildlife crime, six of which pertain to tiger poaching.
Wildlife Trust of India assisted the Forest Department authorities in this case.
