Release of leopards into new enclosure part of Indian zoo’s anniversary celebration

Tata Zoological Park completes 20 yrs

Tata Steel Zoological Park celebrated the 20th foundation day on Saturday, at its premises. Sanjiv Paul, MD JUSCO, MG Singh, chief (administration), corporate services and others were present on the occasion.
To commemorate the special day a ceremonial cake cutting was held depicting picture of the zoo. Later the authorities released the three grown up leopard cubs into their main display enclosure.
To mark the long standing dedication of the employees towards zoo, Singh and Bipul Chakraborty, director, Tata Steel Zoological Park, distributed gift vouchers.
“A new master plan will soon be initiated by Tata Steel Zoo authorities. This will include the introduction of new species and renaming of the TSZP such that it reflects the zoo’s objective of wildlife protection in a better light,” said Chakraborty.
He further added that such a master plan will add to Tata Steel’s intervention towards wildlife conservation, besides becoming a befitting researchers to study the region’s flora and fauna.
