Royal Bengal Tiger enters Sundarbans village

Canning (Sundarbans), Aug 19 (PTI) A Royal Bengal Tiger today entered Rajat Jubilee village in Gosaba of Sundarbans islands and killed two pigs and one cow.

The tiger attacked the cow and pigs at about 9 pm and fled into the Sundarbans Tiger Reserve with the livestock.

“The forest department officials have rushed to the spot.

The pugmarks of the tiger indicated that the animal has returned to the forest,” Sundarbans Tiger Reserve field director Subrat Mukherjee told PTI.

This is the thirteenth incident of a tiger straying into the village from the tiger reserve in 12 months in Sundarbans delta.
