I strongly oppose the Sanyi bypass route construction plans! There is not much traffic on weekdays in the area. Traffic congestion on holidays and peak hours can be resolved by traffic control and further allocation of parking spaces. The bypass route does not benefit our county and it breaches local ecology and wildlife will suffer! We request the Miaoli County magistrate and the government to stop this project!

It has been sometime since I saved an email about the cris threatening the leopard cats in this area of Taiwan. I will check some on the web to determine their current status. However I will post here my hope that they have advocates living in Taiwan who have already saved at least some of the habitat there for the natural use of the leopard cats. I, too, love all cats and would hate to read in the future they had gone extinct in the wild with only a unsustainable remnant still alive in zoos there 🙁 …again I pray this will NOT come to pass.

This article is from 2007, but the hypocrisy is in the fact that Jack Hanna should have known better than to take wild animals onto talk shows or out to schools.  We believe that it’s a monkey-see-monkey-do world out there and when people see celebrities, like Jack Hanna, taking cute baby wild cats into TV studios, they want to be like that guy, and will pay to pet exotic cats too. If not for the demand for cub petting, that has been caused by all of the showing off on stage and in film, there wouldn’t be incidents like the Zanesville Massacre in the first place.  What is even worse is that DC staffers tell us that Jack Hanna has become the mouthpiece for the ZAA which is a collection of second rate roadside zoos, in our opinion, and as such he has been trying to thwart our efforts to pass the Big Cat Public Safety Act.
