Big Cat Updates
Maya Cougar is enjoying her new enclosure. She has everything marked just the way she likes it. The new neighbors are fun to watch and the new toys are pretty interesting.
Andre and Amanda wasted no time getting their territory investigated and Amanda acts like her new den is a throne made for a tiger queen! Here is a photo from Keeper Marie.

Andre Tiger is enjoying the platform in his new territory. This photo of Keeper Marie shows his happy smile.

Natalia Leopard was not at all happy about making a move, but now that she has been investigating her new territory and discovered the a/c in her new den she is settling in.

Sad News – Saying Goodbye to Mac
We are all deeply saddened to report that our beloved 22-year-old cougar Mac was humanely euthanized today. BigCatRescue.org/mac/ Mac has been beleaguered with kidney disease and severe arthritis for a while now. As long as we could manage his pain daily and he was eating, we felt he had a good quality of life. These last couple of days he would not eat. He seemed to slide in and out of awareness of his surroundings. He was leaving us.
A special word of thanks to Senior Keeper Matt for loving and taking care of Mac all these years and keeping him clean, as kidney disease often attracts flies. Today Mac got a ‘cicle and got to spend some time with Matt before drifting into that deep sleep where Dr. Wynn helped ease him out of his aging body into his next big adventure. Thank you, everyone, who loved him and provided such excellent care.
Leave him a tribute at BigCatRescue.org/mac/

Coordinator Report – Lauren Grant
We said goodbye to our old boy Mac today. There was still work to be done, which we managed to do. We finished Armani’s enclosure, including dirting around the outside to cover some roots. Lots of operant and enrichment sign-offs were done today. As a treat, we handed out some enrichment at the end of the day, before the rain. Everyone ate pretty well, even though it was extra hot out today.
That’s about it
