Four NEW CATS Have Arrived!

New cats! At 6 am the rescue team, Jamie Veronica, Afton Tasler, Karma Hurworth, and Maureen Calderon completed their two-day drive from California. Shiloh Bobcat is in Apollo’s old cage. He’s locked in the back so the Holleys can fix his ramp. He appears to have a bad left knee. Philmo Bobcat is in Nabisco’s cage (Nabisco moved to Mrs. Claws’ old cage), Tom Tom Bobcat is in the lakeside section of Lovey’s cage and Mouser Savannah Cat is in the 2 x 4 section of Beacher’s old cage until we are sure the 4 x 4 wire will hold him.

Kristine’s Bobcat Rehab Overnight Kitten Report

FLINT – Precious Flint played up a storm in the afternoon. He is such a playful boy. I think he is even more playful than Ash and Cinder. He played with his scratching posts, knocking one of them over. He played with his enrichment box, scooting it all over the place, lol. He climbed on top of his triangle scratcher and balanced up there, while biting and scratching it. So cute!

He ran around his room playing with everything in sight, lol. After he wore himself out, he settled down in the back corner to take a nice nap. Later, his keeper came in and took him out, to clean his room. They set up his room so cute. The scratching posts were on each end and then they put blankets over them and made a big tent.

As soon as he got back in his room, he found his food plate and chowed down on his dinner. After that he was like a whirlwind, he was so excited! He had the tent down in about 2 or 3 minutes. He ran through there as fast as he could, grabbing the blankets as he went, he would roll in them and grab them with his teeth and run, lol.

He played with his stuffies that were on top of his posts, carrying them around and wrestling with them, he played in his enrichment box scooting it all over again, then he ran around his room in circles, diving into his blanket. He was having so much fun! He managed to push all of his things to the right side of the room again, lol. He is just too adorable!

He played so hard until he finally wore himself out and then he got all cozy on his blanket in the back again to take a much needed long nap. Later he woke up for a short time, played a little in his enrichment box and on top of the camera box, then he went over to his blanket, kneaded and purred, then settled down for another nap.

He woke up for a short time again and played a little with his triangle scratcher and stuffie, then he settled down again to nap some more. As I write this, he is awake again and playing up a storm. He is just too adorable!!!

ASH and CINDER – Ash and Cinder were out in view and more active all afternoon until after dark. Late morning they got their dinner. Cinder killed both rats, but ate just one and then Ash ate the other. So they both had full tummies.

In the afternoon, they napped in the grass under the white pipe for quite a while. They were so cute, Cinder slept on the left stretched out under the pipe and Ash slept on the right all stretched out under the pipe and they were face to face, front paw to front paw. Very cute! Later they moved to behind the den to nap some more.

After a while, they woke up and moved to the front right side, where they saw the squirrel running around all over. They stalked it until it went back up the tree and out of sight, then Cinder wandered around and Ash sat on the Coolaroo looking for Malachite. Then Cinder sat in the corner by the water bowl and looked towards the woods and up in the tree, then she looked over towards Malachite’s cage, watching for him.

After a bit, they both went to the left side again where Ash napped on top of the den and Cinder napped behind the den. Later, Ash wandered off to the middle section and Cinder moved up onto the hanging shelf to lounge around for a while. Then Ash came back and joined her on the hanging shelf.

After a while they both got down and looked around again, then they disappeared into the middle section for a short time. They went back and forth between the front and middle sections wandering around. In the front section, Ash kept climbing into the water bowl cage and then back out, lol. While Ash was in the water bowl cage, Cinder climbed up the fence to where the rat dispenser is and sniffed it for a bit. They both climbed up there to check it out after that.

As the sun was setting they both continued to wander around and pace the fence. They stayed up front until after it was dark and then disappeared into the middle section. Later they came back up front to wander around for a while, look for Malachite and wrestle on the Coolaroo. Then Ash went into the middle section, while Cinder paced the fence for a while, then she followed Ash and went into the middle section.

A while later they came back to the front and wandered around, then zoomed around chasing each other and then they sat on the Coolaroo, bathed and watched for Malachite. Then they were back up wandering around and zooming around chasing each other. As I write this, Cinder is pacing the fence and Ash is playing with the stuffie. They are so cute!!!
