Big Cat Updates

Nikita Lioness got a new Firehose Hammock, see the videos and photos below as well as a Letter To Management from Nikita Lioness herself.

Simba and Frankie are both of quarantine.

An additional water bucket and feeding stone have been set up for Hoover down by the lake. This is so that when he chooses to not come to his feeding lockout there is an additional area closer to the lake that perhaps he can be enticed to come to. Talk about a spoiled boy!!!

There are five videos in today’s update, if you do not see five videos, please let me know in the comments below how many videos you do see.

Happy Anniversary Kali Tiger

Today is Kali Tiger’s BCR Rescue Anniversary! She arrived at the sanctuary 4 years ago today!

Kali LOVES perfume tubes, spices bags, and pretty much any enrichment goodies the team makes for her.

Letter To Management

September 5, 2018

Dear Sir/Madam:

So today The Royal Throne was finally delivered and I am thrilled. I have been waiting and waiting for what seems like forever. A lot of my subjects were surrounding my courtyard during the delivery, so of course, I refused to sit on it while they were watching.

No matter how hard I try, they just don’t seem to get it. I am royalty!

– Where were the trumpets?
– Where were the Royal Guards?
– Where was the royal snack of chicken that should have been placed on the Throne?

Honestly, sometimes I think I need to write a rule book for them. Sigh.

Sincerely,

Nikita Lioness

Coordinator Report – Sue Messineo – 9/5/2018

What a beautiful Wednesday it was today at Big Cat Rescue! Volunteers and interns got feeding and cleaning done with some sign-offs, being done, too.  The interns and volunteer Mary worked more on the Texas Tigers’ home suite of cages to get them all cleaned up.  That is a HUGE area to do landscaping in, but these amazing people tackled the job and made it fun.

Of course, Amand kept her eye on them from across the tour path in the vacation enclosure.

Foster Kitten Update

Momma Mona went to the vet today to find her furr-ever home. Suki and the “M” kittens have kitty colds, so are home getting treated, as well as a litter that has not been to the Cabana yet.

Be on the lookout for three new adorable kittens his weekend!

Find the Kitten Cabana webcam link at BigCatCams.com.  The AMAZING Explore.org/bigcatrescue cams are listed first on that page.
