Sumatra Tiger Born at Point Defiance Zoo

A rare Sumatran tiger cub was born at Tacoma’s Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, the zoo announced.

The Sumatran tiger is a critically endangered species, and births in zoos are extremely rare, said zoo General Curator Karen Goodrowe Beck, who also is vice chairwoman of the North American Species Survival Plan for Sumatran tigers. For more on this story go to http://www.q13fox.com/news/kcpq-rare-sumatran-tiger-cub-born-at-tacomas-point
