Terms of reference for panel probing tiger’s death fixed

BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh government has fixed the terms of reference
for the committee set up to probe the death of a tiger at Van Vihar
National park, official sources said on Tuesday.

The committee would submit its report within seven days, they said.
The panel will find out the actual cause of tiger’s death by studying
the post-mortem report. It will probe whether any wrong treatment was
given to him. Also, it will suggest ways to ensure that
no “infection” spreads among other tigers and such incidents do not
occur again.

The committee comprises Chief forest conservator (wildlife) Suhas
Kumar, forest conservator and director of Van Vihar J S Chouhan, Prof
(Incharge of wildlife health cell) veterinary college, Jabalpur Dr A
B Shrivastava and doctor from state veterinary hospital Dr Anil Kumar.
