The Truth About Pet Food

Big Cat Rescue would like to introduce you to a new friend…Susan Thixton and TruthAboutPetFood.com.

Susan’s story began 17 years ago with the untimely death of her young dog.  Her dog died from cancer; Susan’s vet told her the cancer was caused from chemical preservatives in pet food.  Heartbroken, Susan began studying the pet food industry and educating dog and cat owners all over the world how to avoid risky pet foods…and how to find the best possible nutrition for their dog or cat.  She didn’t want another pet to suffer the same death hers did.

From Susan:

Unfortunately those same chemical preservatives that were responsible for the cancer death of my dog 17 years ago are still commonly used today in many popular dog foods, cat foods and treats.  And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.  You would probably be appalled if you knew what is actually inside of some pet foods.  From risky chemicals and dyes, to meat and animal parts rejected for use in human food because of disease or drugs, to risky imports – it’s all legally allowed and commonly found in many dog and cat foods (and treats).  And worst of all, the rules and regulations that control pet food allow the label to tell you ‘healthy’ and/or ‘natural’ even if the food contains worrisome and/or inferior ingredients.

The most common question I hear from pet lovers is “what do you think about XXX food?…does XXX pet food have risky chemicals in it?”  Every pet owner seems to ask the same question – different pet food brand or name – but basically the same question.  To help answer those questions from millions and millions of pet owners, I developed an online information system reporting on hundreds of different dog foods, cat foods, and pet treats.  Petsumer Report Online provides pet owners with vital information that the pet food label doesn’t tell you…such as country of origin of ingredients, risky ‘red flag’ ingredients, or if a pet food contains health promoting ingredients.

There are many quality pet foods out there – the problem is knowing which is which.  Since pet food regulations require all the labels to look alike, without knowing a few tricks of pet food advertising, you could be feeding your pet a risky and inferior food without knowing it.  Ever notice how every bag of dog food or cat food in the pet store – hundreds of choices – all basically say the same thing on the label?  It can be overwhelming trying to decide which one is the best choice for your pet.  Petsumer Report Online makes it all crystal clear.

Being a huge fan of Big Cat Rescue, I’m making a special offer to supporters.  You can subscribe to Petsumer Report Online AND help Big Cat Rescue at the same time…

Forty plus reviews are added each month.  By the time your year subscription expires there will be well over 1000 reviews of dog foods, cat foods, dog and cat treats, and soon pet toys and other pet supplies.

$17.95 for a one year online subscription.

$5.00 of every sale goes directly to Big Cat Rescue.

Help Big Cat Rescue and learn the Truth about Pet Food!  Nutrition is one of the most neglected areas of pet care.  Modern veterinary science tells us that the average size dog (30 pounds) should have a life span of 25 years and the average size cat should have a life span of 30 years.  Sadly, we lose them far earlier.  Genetics, environment, and nutrition – or lack of nutrition – all plays a role in the life expectancy of your pet.  Improve your pet’s diet – improve their health and extend their life span.

Pet Food meat ingredients come from two VERY different categories or classifications…Pet grade/quality ingredients (which can be diseased or sick animals or animal parts rejected for use in human food) or Human grade/quality ingredients.

Do you know which your pet is eating?

Pet foods and Treats can legally contain chemical preservatives linked to cancer and tumors.

Do you know if they are in your
pet’s food or treats?

Many pet food manufacturers import pet food ingredients outside the US – from countries with little to no government regulations or quality control.

Do you know if any ingredient in your pet’s food
comes from outside the US?
