Tiger kills shepherd in Tadoba Andhari tiger reserve


Chandrapur, Aug 16 (PTI) The body of a shepherd, suspected to be killed by a tiger has been recovered from Bamangaon protected forest (PF) area under Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR), forest officials said.

According to the reports, the deceased Namdeo Ramchandra Chowke (35) of Tekepar village had gone for grazing his cattle in Bamangaon forest area on Friday.

After Chowke did not return home by evening, the villagers launched a search operation for him but had to drop it as it turned dark.

A fresh search operation was again launched on Saturday and the villagers found the badly mauled parts of his body scattered in the the forest.

“The spot falls in the survey no 41 of Bamangaon PF area of TATR.
