The show went on as scheduled and ‘Robbie The Tiger’ took centre stage at Snatch Rock ‘n Roll Lounge.

The nightclub was given permission to include a live tiger as part of a performance Thursday night.

A handful of animal rights activists stood outside the club holding signs in protest, saying a wild animal should not be used as part of a concert.

The Siberian tiger was part of an event hosted by the Search for the Next PussyCat Doll.

The Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission gave its permission to the event, provided no bylaws or regulations were broken.

The Calgary Humane Society inspector also looked at the arrangements, including food, water, and shelter for the big cat.

Fish and Wildlife issued an import and export permit.

The tiger arrived at the club late Thursday afternoon and by 9 o’clock ‘Robbie The Tiger’ was set up in a big cage with a number of his handlers.

The animal will be back on the road on Friday.
