Today at Big Cat Rescue Apr 29 Platforms and Plants

Today was a busy day for tours, but we still managed to get a lot of cat stuff done too. The Holley’s worked their magic and in under 7 hours built a three tiered tower for Nikita the tiger. He is loving the fact that he can now see Food Prep again. Maybe with all this fun stuff to do he will quit obsessing over Shere Khan.

Lisa got some deep cleaning done in Nik’s cage while the Holley were building the platforms and Gale replaced a rope, took photos and had the volunteers and interns ready an outdoor enclosure that will be safe for Tommie Girl.

Our AdvoCat program is off to a slow start in numbers, but a big start in accomplishments. Only one person showed up, but that was Nancy Brigham and she and I (Carole Baskin) planted dozens and dozens of water plants along the lake shore. These will feed the ducks and draw them into view for the tigers, lions and bobcats who live along the lake. It also helps to protect the bank from erosion.
