BIG CAT RESCUE HONORED

Great Non Profits Award

AS 2012 TOP-RATED NONPROFIT

New GreatNonprofits.org Award is Based on Positive Online Reviews

Great Non Profit Award Badge 2012

TAMPA, FL DEC 4, 2012–Big Cat Rescue announced today that it has been honored with a prestigious 2012 Top-Rated Award by GreatNonprofits, the leading provider of user reviews about nonprofit organizations.

“We are excited to be named a Top-Rated 2012 Nonprofit,” says Carole Baskin, founder of Big Cat Rescue. We are proud of our accomplishments this year, including our social media efforts such as:

1.  BigCatRescue.org’s website is fully responsive on mobile and gets 1.5 million views per year.

2.  BigCatTV.com, our YouTube channel surpassed 51 million views in its 6 years and is now averaging appx 750,000 views per day.

3.  Along with our Big Cat Coalition partners we have implemented a 3 prong approach to ending the trade in big cats.

The Top-Rated Nonprofit award was based on the large number of positive reviews that Big Cat Rescue received – reviews written by volunteers, donors and supporters. People posted their personal experience with the nonprofit. For example, one person wrote, “Big Cat Rescue is an internationally recognized and respected sanctuary for abused, neglected, unwanted and otherwise at-risk big cats. Located in Tampa, Florida, USA, the dedicated members of BCR go far beyond giving sanctuary — they are also deeply committed to educating the public about the plight of big cats, and encourage all of us, through their educational materials, website, videos, and actism opportunities, to become involved in the ongoing struggle to improve the lives, safety, and future of big cats of all species.”

Being on the Top-Rated List comes at an important time of the year, as donors look for causes to support during the holiday season.

“We are gratified by Big Cat Rescue for its work,” said Perla Ni, CEO of GreatNonprofits, “They deserve to be discovered by more donors and volunteers who are looking for a great nonprofit to support.”

Being on the Top-Rated list gives donors and volunteers more confidence that this is a credible organization. The reviews by volunteers, supporters and donors show the on-the-ground results of this nonprofit. This award is a form of recognition by the community.
