The front page of the Metro section of today’s St. Pete Times has a big photo of Zabu with her turkey. Headline is “Where’s the cranberry sauce?” and there is a brief caption about BCR giving turkeys to the cats and that white tigers do not exist in the wild.

Tigers Unleashed on Fatal Attractions

Nov 18 at 9 PM EST watch the premier of Animal Planet’s Fatal Attractions – Tigers Unleashed! On a compound in Florida one man is killed and another fights for his life when a tiger breaks free and attacks. In Kansas, a young and innocent girl lies broken and dead when her dream photo shoot with a tiger goes badly wrong.

“Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds” is often called the mailman’s creed and actually dates back to the Persion Empire, but that is nothing compared to what Big Cat Rescuers do for the cats. As I sit here typing this, it is raining cats and dogs outside, but I know there are dedicated volunteers out there cleaning cages for the cats.

The Enrichment Committee worked by way of construction lights for the second week in a row to help build a room addition for PurrSistance the ocelot. Thanks again to Darren and Jennifer Holley, Willow, Babs and Julie, Deanna, Merrill, Jamie and probably others who came and went during the long night of cage building. We called it quits around 9PM and that is pretty amazing when you figure these people work all day and then come out every Wednesday to do something wonderful for the cats.
