Today at Big Cat Rescue Oct 28
More pumpkin antics by big cats:
Every day is exciting at Big Cat Rescue!
Our wonderful and creative volunteers created Jack O Lanterns on Wednesday and installed glow sticks on Friday so that the Halloween Night Tour had an extra special effect to their tour.
Even though it sprinkled rain all day the keepers diligently cared for the cats while the customer relations crew gave tours and restocked the gift shop. Jamie finished up the tracking project for WildTrack.org with the help of Modnic tiger, Alex tiger and Bella tiger. We have two more wagons of sand and may try the new TX tigers, Amanda, Andrea and Arthur, but even if we can’t get their paw prints we got more than the required 21 rear left paw prints for the computer database.
Our first order from the company that we are switching to for household cleaning products arrived and we divided out the products into the areas where we need them. The intern housing got the laundry soap, the Cat Hospital got the disinfectants and lotions, Food Prep got an alternative for bleach that is more effective and less dangerous and the Gift Shop got hand cleaners for the rest rooms and other housekeeping items.
Tonga the white serval is still healing in the Cat Hospital under the watchful eye of the Skipaholics. Zoul wouldn’t eat so he got fluids and is going in to see the vet Saturday morning. Raindance the bobcat is walking better although she still has a bit of a head tilt, so we are thinking the antibiotics must have cleared up an ear infection that was causing her to wobble.

For those of you who missed the fun gathering we had Tuesday at the Party House, Cindy has offered to call you and explain it to you purr-sonally or set up a time when you can watch her on your computer.
