Big Cat Rescue Boundaries 2013

Friday the 13th is Lucky for Big Cat Rescue

Today we closed on the 9 acres next door to the sanctuary. Woo Hoo!

Thank you everyone! We could not have done this without all of our wonderful supporters. The kids who keep shooting out there mostly shoot over the new property, so we may be able to deter that. Our main concern is development coming too close to the cats. We just found out that the developer to our west is trying to go from 9 homes per ac to 20, which means apartments. We may need your help contesting that at the zoning meeting.

The area below with the heavy black outline is the new parcel.  It is kitty corner to the rest of our property and brings our total acreage up to 65 acres.  The shooting and ATV noise comes from the 10 ac block just south of the new parcel, but that owner wants 2.7 million for his land, which is double the going rate.

The area bounded in black and in color is the 65 acre boundary of Big Cat Rescue as of 12/13/2013

The parcels we would like to buy next are obvious.  Can you help with a donation?

We need more space for rehab of native bobcats like the one in the photo below.
