Tiger Expert and Champion Ron Tilson Dies


Tilson, Ron L. age 69, of Apple Valley, passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 16, 2013. He is preceded in death by his parents. Ron is survived by his wife, Janet; his son, Lincoln (Amberly); granddaughter, Raelynn; sister, Sharilynn Womack; niece, nephew, colleagues and friends. Ron was a dedicated employee of the MN Zoo for 25 years and was an international consultant on Tiger Conservation. A gathering of family and friends for Ron will be held on Thursday, Nov. 21 from 3-6 PM at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 147th & Garrett Ave., Apple Valley. Memorials are preferred to a conservation organization of the donor’s choice or to the MN Zoo’s Namibian Rhino Project. Henry W. Anderson 952-432-2331 –

The last time I saw Ron was at the Tigers 4 Tigers Conference on April 20, 2013.
