A local animal rescue organization will receive a new Toyota truck through a program that assist non-profit organizations across the country.

Big Cat Rescue will receive a new Toyota Tundra truck later this summer to assist in animal rescue, according to a statement issued by the Toyota company.

Toyota’s 100 Cars for Good program is awarding 100 cars to 100 U.S. nonprofits over the course of 100 days.

Big Cat Rescue plans to use the truck to transport people and equipment to and from rescue sites. The non profit was selected as one of 500 finalists from thousands of applications nationwide and picked as a winner through a public vote on Facebook.  Runners-up in the program each receive $1,000.
