Two Sumatran tiger cubs born in Medan zoo

Medan, N Sumatra (ANTARA News) – A Sumatran tiger gave birth to a male and female cub in a North Sumatran zoo early on Sunday, a veterinarian said.

Sucitrawan, who took care of the Sumatran tiger said the birth of the two cubs was the very first in the zoo after it was moved to Jalan Bunga Rampe IV, Simalingar B, here.

“The two cubs each weighing 1.1 kgs at birth, are now in good condition and we are monitoring their health,” Sucitrawan said.

He said that his side continued to supervise the two cubs and their mother.

“They were born normally. We have not given them a name. Their father is called Si Bagus (handsome), and the mother Si Manis (pretty),” he said.
