Ariel came to us as a wild bobcat in 2014. Although she can kill in a confined space, she will walk up to anyone she thinks has food. That was never going to work in the wild.
In July 2014, a woman called Big Cat Rescue and said her son had a bobcat that his dog had dragged in as a kitten, four years earlier. She had been living in the house as a “pet”.
The Florida Wildlife Commission agreed to let Ariel stay at Big Cat Rescue in January 2015 and she has lived here ever since.
