Big Cat Rescue Reviews

I was privileged to be a guest for the feeding tour on Saturday, September 3rd, accompanied by Mikel C. I’ve never been to a facility such as yours and was amazed by the work you do. Matt, our guide, was personable, knowledgeable, and you could feel the passion he has for these beautiful creatures. There were times when I was left speechless by the stories he told about the cats and how they came to live there. I hope that some day I will have the opportunity to visit Big Cat Rescue, again. You and your staff are very special people.

Thank you for a most memorable experience, Ellen

Me and my girlfriend went and had a great time. You can tell they love their cats and each unique story will touch your heart. Go on the 10 AM tour since they cats are more active then the 1PM due to the heat. I saw one of the biggest lions I’ve ever seen in my life and new cats…

The Big Cat Rescue is a place my family and I had wanted to visit for years, yet finally made it there in July. We are so glad we went. This sanctuary is home to more than 100 cats who were abandoned, turned in when they grew too big to be pets, rescued when mothers were shot for fur, retired,…

It’s wonderful to see these big cats-being taken care of and loved. It’s a nonprofit and provides a permanent home for unwanted wildcats.

As a animal lover I do not go to zoos. This is a animal rescue that does a great job of caribg for the wild cats. A real must if u r in the Tampa area. Skip the zoo and see the rescue!

If you are in the Tampa area please go along and support the Big Cat rescue sanctuary. This is not a zoo so you are not allowed to wander around unescorted..The sanctuary has a vast array of beautiful cats from bobcats to tigers.Be aware that no children under 10 are allowed. There are a number of different tours available and some…

I thought the feeding tour would be interesting, but it was not what I had hoped for. You were only able to see a few of the many cats, and they rushed you so that the cats awaiting their dinner did not get agitated. After you have seen one cat eat a rabbit, you really don’t need to see 10…

Incredible. Excellent tour. At the time we went there were 117+ bigs cats. The volunteer that gave the tour – you could tell that she really cares for the cats, not just takes care of them. Very informative. The white and black tigers, the lion, the cougars – each had a story of rescue. You get to be pretty close…

Big Cat Rescue is always on our list of things to do when we are in the Tampa area. It is an educational experience to see these big cats and learn the history of each one. BCR in Tampa is not an attraction,it is an experience. This place is definitely worth a trip to see! You get right up close to all of the big cats they have there and the tour is fantastic. Second time at Big Cat Rescue. Strangely different this time. Half the tour into the back area was shut off. They said it was because the cats were becoming agitated with the tourists. Big Cat Rescue is an amazing place. I’ve visited several times and always encourage my friends who live locally. Friends and family who visit Tampa, well I take them personally! We went to the Big Cat Rescue on June 5th, and had a really nice time. It was very hot (around 93 degrees) which does affect the cats. If you can, try choosing a cooler day, or earlier in the day, which might allow for more active cats. It’s about a 90 minute tour, and you have to stay with…

The wonderful thing about Big Cat Rescue is the way they care. It was very hot the day we went and most of the cats were in their dens sleeping, so I didn’t get to see as many as I would have liked. But, every time I go I learn something new about them. The way the staff and volunteers…
