This video shows that a kitten will call for his or her mom, and may do so for a very long time before she arrives.

Mother bobcats have to hunt to feed their young and often have to be away for many hours at a time. If she senses you anywhere near her kittens she probably won’t show herself, so you are just making matters worse if you are hovering over the kitten.

The person in this video was obviously inside their house, behind a glass window, as you can see the water spots on the clip. If the crying persists for more than 24 hours then something is probably wrong and you might need to call an experienced bobcat rehabber.

Be advised though that most wildlife trappers are just in the business of picking up wildlife and killing it for a fee and not at all concerned with relocating the wild animal (which doesn’t work) or rehabbing injured or orphaned wildlife.

I work with Orphan Acres horse sanctuary and he also does animal rehab for Idaho U.S. Fish and Wildlife so I would call Brent Glover.

Thank you for posting this! I have ALWAYS advised against the damn trappers who WILL slaughter the animal…I'm NOT a fan of theirs at all. To kill these animals for the paltry money they are paid simply reinforces their 'filth' status to me.

I had a run with a momma Bobcat and it didn't work out as I had hoped as you can see.

    How sad–lacking in brain acumen!
